    Hi - thanks for visiting our new "blogsite" - a combined website and blog. We created this so that you can see constantly updated content, rather than the boring static websites that you often see around the web.

    Love Images is a specialist wedding and portrait photography studio, based in Auckland and owned by multi-award winning photographer, Gary Hewlett. We provide stylish, wedding photography and family portrait photography for clients who value the importance of great images.

Lauren and James

It’s been a while since I posted here, but I’m back and raring to go!

Last November I was privileged to photograph the wedding of Lauren and James at Kumeu Valley Estate in Auckland. It was a scorching hot, beautiful November day and a great day for a wedding.

One of the things I always like about weddings is when you get to hang out with a cool bunch of people, and that’s exactly what I had here.

Thanks to both families for having me along for Lauren and James’ special day – it was a blast!

Isuru and Rumesha

This is a fairly large set of images, as the wedding took place over two days! Isuru and Rumesha had a Sri Lankan wedding over Labour Weekend, starting at 3am (!!) on the Saturday and going on until midnight the folllowing day, Sunday.

I’d never shot a Sri Lankan wedding before, and I’m smitten! What a wonderful set of …family and friends these guys have, and I was gobsmacked by how fabulous Rumesha looked on both days. Isuru’s red sneakers on the second day were a masterstroke, and underlined how important fun was in this wedding.

Anyway, enjoy the images. I had a ball creating them!

Georgia

Georgia is such a sweet little girl. Absolutely fascinated by books – throughout the whole shoot she wanted to have books read to her. One of my favourite shots of the season so far came out of this session – guess which one…?

Pia and Isla

Pia and her younger sister, Isla, have to be two of the most beautiful children I’ve ever photographed. Pia knows how to “work” the camera already, and she’s only 3..! Isla on the other hand has this fabulous, innocent curiosity about her which suddenly explodes into wonderful, baby-like FUN!

One of my favourite shoots ever. I showed the pictures to the parents last night and they struggled to choose their favourites so I think I must have done an ok job…
